MODULE INDICATIVE CONTENT
The aim of this module is to refine and expand on a student’s creative writing skills, along with building students’ scriptwriting skills up through a variety of short projects which fit within the area of comics.

During the semester there will be a series of writing activities in-class, following by a set of longer activities outside of class.

Emphasis is placed upon experimentation, there will be opportunities to write in a variety of genres and forms with the goal of building up confidence and practice when writing for comics.

By the end of the semester students will have a writing portfolio filled with all the activities from the previous weeks, then students will work on a short collective of minor assessed projects, and one major project which should represent the learning a student has undertaken.

MODULE LEARNING STRATEGIES
Studio learning takes place in timetabled sessions with academic staff who introduce key contextual and practice-based lectures focused on the development of creative writing and story narrative. Through these initial lectures you will gain an understanding of the core concepts, theory and tools necessary to complete the assignments for the module.

One of the principles underlying this module is a mutually beneficial relationship between planned out creative writing and improvised creative writing, that both methods and ideas influence creative production.
