MODULE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. ANALYSE AND COMMUNICATE THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY OF PRESENTING COMPLEX VISUAL INFORMATION, IDEAS, PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS TO AN IDENTIFIED AUDIENCE. DEMONSTRATE YOUR ABILITY TO TAKE A SELECTED DESIGN CONCEPT THROUGH TO FINISHED ARTWORK.

2. DEMONSTRATE CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF THE INTENDED MARKET AND/OR USERS THROUGH A RANGE OF CONCEPTS/DRAFTS. APPLY THE METHODS AND TECHNIQUES OF ENQUIRY AND ANALYSIS TO THE DESIGN DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCE FINAL INDIVIDUAL NEGOTIATED PROJECTS.

3. USE CRITICAL EVALUATION TO REFLECT ON AND RESPOND APPROPRIATELY TO NEGOTIATED PROJECTS.

4. SHOW APPROPRIATE ANALYSIS IN THE PRODUCTION OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION SOLUTIONS.

5. DEMONSTRATE THE ABILITY TO WORK WITH OTHER PEOPLE, ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY AND RECOGNISING INDIVIDUAL STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES.

Degree Show Diary [Learning Outcomes 1-7]- Final show display, and fund raising activities towards this which are recorded.
MODULE INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module requires you to accept significant responsibility for identifying individual professional goals within the subject of comic, cartoon or illustration. You will be given the opportunity and experience of working on a design proposals for an external brief, which may be in the form of a competition and/or live brief with industry. The way in which a creative idea is influenced by the external partner's requirements will be considered, as will industrial and/or user constraints together with the meeting of deadlines. As well as this you must demonstrate the ability to manage a sustained programme of design development, critical and analytical enquiry related to your individual project proposals. Supported by market and visual research, you will be required to generate a range of ideas and use creative design methods developed over the previous levels of the course, finally presenting your work in a Professional manner.
The focus of this module is on the resolution, implementation and production of at least four projects conceived in Self Negotiated Programme of Study Part One.

Assessment Details, [Learning Outcomes 1-7]

At the end of this module you will submit a body of work as outlined in the module handbook.
This will include a substantial body of design/illustration work as detailed in your project proposals including, research, design development through visual exploration and other supporting materials.
Portfolio presentation and display appropriate for a professional exhibition.

To achieve a pass (40% or above) in this module you must complete all the assessment tasks, having responded appropriately to the brief. The production of the identified design solution having addressed the requirements and demands of external specifications, e.g deadlines supporting this with some awareness of the market and/or users.

Negotiation with staff over the initiation and development of an appropriate programme of work, which demonstrates and exploits your knowledge and experience gained from previous levels. Negotiations should ensure that the programme can be resourced and will meet the learning outcomes of the module.

Carrying out research, ideas generation and problem solving including the exploration of personal ideas via visual exploration relevant to the field of study, resulting in the defining of intended outcomes.
