Module Details
INDICATIVE CONTENT
To provide practical experience of working within and for the organisation.
To increase awareness of how the business operates in practice.
To develop appropriate behavioural attitudes within the working environment
To enhance personal transferable skills
ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT
A1 - Completion of 250 work hours during L4 of the course



Students must complete (and have signed off) 250 working hours at a visitor attraction. They should be able to demonstrate and apply the knowledge gained during the taught session and bridge the gap between academia and the real world.



Learning Outcome 1



A2 - Presentation (15 minutes + 5 minutes questions)



Students should reflect on their experience of working at a visitor attraction and identify the knowledge, skills and experience gained.



Learning Outcome 2
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Teaching = 2 x 3hr (6 hour total) per academic year (workshop introducing the placement and expectations).

Each student will have a personal experience on the programme.
Students will undertake their agreed work within the visitor attraction.
In addition to this students will develop their learning from the organisations technical materials and training, the experience of working to targets usually in a managed team; the preparation for a writing of an assignment and a workplace reflective journal

Must be registered on the BA Hons Visitor Attraction & Resort Management course, part of which involves employment with Alton Towers
