ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
A1. Intercultural Influence Masterclass

Format: Interactive TED-style presentation (15 minutes, including facilitated audience interaction)

In this assessment, each student delivers an engaging, TED-style Intercultural Influence Masterclass focused on a leadership topic of their choice. The presentation should demonstrate how to lead, motivate, or influence across cultures in complex, real-world contexts.

Students will:

* Apply leadership theories and cross-cultural frameworks (e.g. Hofstede, GLOBE, emotional intelligence, adaptive leadership).
* Analyse a specific challenge, story, or insight drawn from a real case, professional experience, or emerging global issue.
* Demonstrate authentic, inclusive, and resilient leadership behaviours through both content and delivery.
* Facilitate a short interactive element (e.g. reflective prompt, live poll, intercultural scenario discussion) to model confidence, interpersonal influence, and audience engagement.

The goal is not only to inform but to inspire: to translate theoretical insights into practical, influential leadership practice that resonates with diverse audiences.

Formative feedback opportunities are embedded throughout the module to support students' development and provide guidance before the final summative assessment.

Consideration will be given to individual learning needs. Assesses Learning Outcomes: LO1 & LO2

A2 Leadership Immersion Journal and Practice Lab

Format: Curated Immersion Journal (2,000-word equivalent, multimodal permitted)

This assessment builds on a series of leadership labs and intercultural challenges completed during the module (3 minimum), designed to stretch students’ emotional intelligence, ethical judgement, and resilience in practice.

Each week, students will engage with a structured activity such as:

* Guided leadership mindfulness and reflection
* Role-play of difficult cross-cultural conversations
* Values exploration and intercultural dilemmas
* Trust-building and resilience-based challenges

Students will document their experiences in a Leadership Immersion Journal, capturing evidence of engagement (e.g. notes, audio logs, diagrams, photos) alongside critical reflections that link practice to leadership and intercultural theory.

The final curated submission should include:

* A selection of key moments and artefacts from the journal
* Critical analysis of leadership challenges encountered, drawing on theory and frameworks
* A personal resilience profile and values statement, demonstrating growth and self-awareness as an intercultural leader

Assessment focuses on depth of insight, emotional growth, and critical reflection on ethical and inclusive leadership practice.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
Interactive Lectures

Interactive lectures provide students with the conceptual foundations of resilient leadership, focusing on advanced theories of leadership, organisational behaviour, and entrepreneurial thinking. These sessions
stimulate critical discussion and are supported by case studies that explore leadership resilience in real-world contexts such as crisis management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic decision-making.

Collaborative Workshops

Workshops and group activities encourage students to apply leadership principles in simulated scenarios. Through problem-based exercises and role-play, students develop resilience in action while practising adaptive leadership, cross-cultural competence, and ethical decision-making. Guest speakers from industry contribute further insights into the challenges of leading in uncertain and volatile environments.

Self-Directed Study

Independent learning is central to the development of resilient leaders. Students are guided to engage with academic texts, digital libraries, and professional case material available on the module’s Blackboard platform. This component promotes reflective practice, research skills, and self-awareness, encouraging students to take ownership of their leadership development journey.

Integrated Learning Experience

The combination of formal teaching, applied workshops, and independent study creates a dynamic and holistic learning environment. These strategies cultivate critical thinking, reflective capacity, and leadership resilience, ensuring students are prepared to lead with agility and confidence in diverse, complex, and rapidly changing business contexts.
