Module Indicative Content
- Distinction between the Common Law System and the Civil Law System;
- The main source of business law operating within the two legal systems;
- The formation of business contracts and obligations arising;
- Sale of goods law;
- Company law
- Dispute settlement: litigation and arbitration;
- Foreign trade law and foreign investment laws.
Module Learning Strategies
Students can expect to participate in group lectures consisting of one double-period seminar each week and be assigned to tutorial groups meeting for one period each week. Students will need to actively take part in all lectures and tutorials in order to be successful, including 36 contact hours and 114 hours devoted to independent study.
Students have the option to attend a mock trial at the end of the teaching period.
Students will learn the skills of working efficiently and effectively as part of a team and acquire the discipline of class attendance; all students are expected to undertake written assignments and to take part in tutorial discussions.
