Module Learning Strategies
The module consists of a series of lectures followed up by tutorials (with videos) that further develop the subject material. You are expected to use WWW research skills to develop responses to set case studies and questions. Electronic distributed learning will be used.
There will normally be one lecture and one tutorial per week.

Module Learning Outcome
1. The ability to define data and information.
2. An understanding of the nature of information and information systems.
3. An understanding of the nature and structure of different types of business organisation.

This module will also give you opportunity to demonstrate the following skills:
(a) Undertake research appropriate to level and subject area
(b) Present written and oral arguments in a clear and cogent manner

The decision making process. Data and Information quality and quantity. Organisations as systems. The significance of operational, tactical and strategic levels. Transaction processing systems, Office support systems, Decision support systems. Information Systems and Organisation in the networked enterprise.
