The nature of evidence / research - becoming a critical thinker
Study skills: literacy skills, academic writing, referencing and citation.
Introduction to the concept of self assessment and its role in developing own learning for higher education
Becoming a reflective learner
Using information technology for identifying and retrieving good quality information and search strategies. The acquisition and dissemination of information using word processing, email, power point and presentation skills
Organising and managing time to maximise learning opportunities
Module Additional Assessment Details
A portfolio of work submitted at the end of the course. The portfolio will contain:
materials produced by the student about the course, their learning and study activities from the CD Rom

Additional Assessment Details (including formative feedback / assessment:
Formative feedback will involve group tutorials centred on the development of a plan for their work.
Students will present to their fellow students (10 minutes) their reflection and action plan
