Module Indicative Content
Focus on the medical model in relation to a number of mental illnesses namely:
Depression
Anxiety
Schizophrenia
Mania
Therefore looking at assessment and risk in terms of signs and symptoms of these conditions and highlighting issues like self harm and suicide
Identifying appropriate treatment (s) options used in medical approach and rationale for this (these)
Highlighting other treatment options and referral pathways at primary and secondary levels
Exposure to service users and clinicians to get a sense of theory and practice
Module Additional Assessment Details
A portfolio of evidence comprising of four sections, one relating to each of the learning outcomes and wordage for each section between 500 and 1000 words (addressing all LO's)

Group and individual tutorials around the production of a profile and to give feedback on progress
