Module Indicative Content
This module provides practitioners with the opportunity to demonstrate the development and enhancement of their clinical practice through a work-based learning approach.
It is a vehicle by which individual practitioners can demonstrate how they are keeping up to date with professional and practice developments. It will enable practitioners to establish evidence of practice learning and competence enhancement from work-based activities which could be used for renewal of professional registration.
This module allows practitioners to demonstrate how they have enhanced their learning and improved their professional practice. This may be through:
- Participation in established in-service programmes
- Developing patient/client care
- Mentoring more junior staff or students
- Managing care.
Module Learning Strategies
This module is student and work-based centred and designed around student need and aims. The majority of learning hours for this module are work-based and are located within the independent study hours (95%), which will also include underpinning reading and compilation of evidence for the portfolio.
Student contact hours (5%) are based upon a series of workshops, explaining and exploring the methods of achieving the module outcomes. In addition, there will be the opportunity to access group and individual tutorial support, in order to develop the evidence within the portfolio.
