Module Learning Strategies
Student contact hours (12%) will include key lectures, interactive lectures, group work and feedback, workshops and directed learning.
Supervised, assessed clinical practice (12%).

Module Indicative Content
This module aims to help students expand on the academic skills developed in Part one, and develop skills in reflective analysis. Also, this module will develop clinical skills that will enable them to apply theory to practice in order to enhance client care.
The clinical assessment document will be used to identify and plan individual learning needs and to record learning during the 36 hours of supervised, assessed clinical practice.
The content will include: issues relating to unwanted pregnancy, sexually acquired infections update, HIV/AIDS awareness, introduction to psychosexual issues, menopause, premenstrual syndrome and the principles of health screening relevant to contraception and sexual health services.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Formative feedback: Group and individual tutorials. Mentor continuous supervision with initial, interim and final discussion.
Additional Assessment Details:
A 3,000 word reflective essay based on as aspect of the students contraception and sexual health care practice (LOs: 2, 3, 4)
Detailed clinical learning outcomes contained within the clinical assessment document (LO: 1)
Both elements must be passed.
