Module Indicative Content
This interactive module comprises the following content: Portfolio and reflective writing development; philosophy/objectives of care; development of acute spinal injury care and services; research/prognosis of disability; review of central/autonomic nervous system; pathology of SCI; patterns of neurological deficit in trauma cases; neurological assessment; neurogenic dysfunction; acute SCI implications; conservative care v surgical care; roles of the MIDT; ethical issues; SCI in children, elderly/changing client population/management issues; SCI and hospital acquired infections; rehabilitation; support groups.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A 30 minute seminar presentation using PowerPoint, with handouts and to be based on a clinical competency (Los 1, 2 & 3).
A Portfolio of evidence (Pass/Fail), comprising the following essential elements:
1. Clinical Practice assessment
2. SWOT Analysis
3. Learning Contracts
4. Actions Plans
5. Reflective Diary/Learning Logs
6. Feedback from mentor (achieves Los 1, 2 and 3).
Formative Assessment:
