Module Learning Strategies
The learning for this module will take place through structured study days, directed and self directed study and experiential learning in the practice setting.

Interactive Lectures and group work (including role play) 40%

Module Indicative Content
The course will explore current issues and challenges in the area of medication management. There will be exploration of the practitioners role in delivering effective strategies to improve the service users experience including evidence based approaches to care delivery i.e. compliance therapy and motivational interviewing. There will be critical examination of current clinical practice in relation to best practice. There will be a focus upon pharmacology and psychopharmacology as applied to treatment choice and decision-making. Assessment tools/documents and clinical/laboratory screening will be critically evaluated in the areas of psychopathology, side-effect management and clinical emergencies and will explore strategies for integration into service provision.
