A 3000 word reflective essay demonstrating analysis of personal learning during the course. This will be based upon a reflective diary completed during the course. (addressing LO's 1-4) Weighting 100%

A class based practical assessment of MLD and MLLB skills - Clinical practice assessment Pass/Fail Weighting 0% (addressing LO 5).
This must be passed before submitting summative assignment and completing the course. The class based practical assessment result will be submitted as an appendix to the essay.

Module Indicative Content
Theory in relation to the microcirculation and fluid transport systems. Awareness of the theory of Cassley Smith method of specialist massage and multilayer bandaging Provision of Casley Smith method MLD and MLLB including indications and contra indications. Treatment for head and neck oedema. Treatment of genital oedema. Communication skills. Addressing service users and carers needs. Identify implement and evaluate treatment utilising MLD and MLLB. Appropriate referral systems to other agencies. Reflective practice.
