Module Indicative Content
This module is designed to introduce you to the theories and terminology of web design focusing on: 'Soft' skills such as interviewing and responding to feedback; Designing a website for clients; Problem solving that helps support multiple perspectives; Reflection about the design process and effective communication; Peer teaching and evaluation in a collaborative environment.
Module Additional Assessment Details
You will generate a series of on online screen based graphic designs using appropriate digital design tools demonstrating your ability to apply principles of good design; optimisation and graphic manipulation; engage in the peer review process and understand and apply proper terminology (33%)

You will generate an online electronic personal portfolio site using appropriate digital design tools demonstrating your ability to apply principles of good design; creating website storyboards; applying quality assurance and redesign techniques; applying usability and accessibility theory; engage in the peer review process and understand and apply proper terminology. (33%) [LO's 2 and 3]

Working with an assigned team you will generate a basic client based website using appropriate digital design tools demonstrating your ability to apply principles of good design in creating usable, effective websites; effective team collaboration; design for a client; use professional design processes; engage in the peer review process and understand and apply proper terminology. (34%) [LO's 1, 2 and 3]
Module Learning Strategies
1. Follow the class structure in the Virtual Learning Environment reading material, viewing movies and completing the exercises.
2. Read the assigned chapters in the text or view the assigned software instructional movies.
3. Complete peer review. Formative feedback will be gathered from your own review of others and their review of your work.
4. Attend class crits to receive feedback on your work.
