Module Additional Assessment Details
Coursework is made up of aggregated components using negotiated briefs and content to cover learning outcomes 1-4; a final assessment grade will take an holistic view of the student's achievements across all components.

You will be asked to produce a production log or file of preparatory work video production [Learning Outcomes 1-4]

You will also produce examples of cross-media application of those ideas and layouts / sequences which demonstrate a good understanding of the strengths and constraints of on-line video [Learning Outcomes 1-4]

You will make a formal presentation of on-line video which demonstrates your own ideas and technical competence in video production for multimedia [Learning Outcomes 1-4]

A single assessment grade will be awarded having taken an holistic view of the student's achievements.

Module Indicative Content
Video for online delivery has new markets and new technical challenges, as well as adding a powerful extra dimension to online interactive communication. This module aims to look at how the technical constraints and opportunities of online video are used, can be incorporated into the students work, and can exploit new media. You are expected to analyse and seek to exploit the strengths of current video on cross-platform delivery.

You will work on several short videos for online delivery in specified context and to specified users

You will also explore
De-constructing and analysing current examples of online video
Use of video with restricted format, resolution and length
Use of sound and visuals

Module Learning Strategies
The module is based on a set of tutorials and seminars discussing and producing
1) examples of onscreen video sequences and combinations of video sequences which convey mood and concepts,
2) Attending and participating in workshops and seminars covering, current examples of onscreen video and interactive multimedia exploiting video
3) Undertaking theoretical study of interactive narrative in self managed research on interactive multimedia exploiting video
4) Developing skills in appropriate software through directed learning and practice.

Module Resources
Access to bookable studio space and lecture/seminar room with blackout and digital presentation hardware. Access to digital storage. Computer workshop facilities and appropriate hardware and software. Slide Library. Specialist skills 'modulettes' will be assigned to this module.
