A range of books, subject-specific periodicals and journals, newspaper and other related articles, as well as texts relating to the design process and the promotion of design relevant to your course of study should be employed as negotiated with the module manager - together with any subject-specific visual, audio or audio-visual evidence to support your work.

You will be expected to take advantage of the extensive library facilities available within the University; keeping abreast of current developments through appropriate periodicals and being aware of the work of major practitioners in your subject.
Module Learning Strategies
This module asks you to look at your prospects and prepare for getting employment. To summarise your skills and experiences and communicate them to others. The learning activity centres on aiming your self-promotion at one sector of industry, and developing lively an personal self-promotional material.
1. Attending lectures, events and exhibitions covering;
2. Participation in regular interim critiques and tutorials and meeting to evaluate, and refine work-in-progress, knowledge and background development as presented by yourself and other students
3. Applying production techniques with skill and thought.

Design Study Collection
Non-specialist computing facilities for email, internet access, word processing, database, spreadsheet and basic presentations will be available through the University's 'Information Services' on-campus facilities - the exception being the 'studio browsers' which are located in base rooms/studios and will provide mainly email and internet access which are provided by the Faculty.
Specialist skills 'modulettes' will be assigned to this module. A comprehensive list of the modulettes is available from the Faculty Office, together with the current operational parameters for the modulettes (instruction description, maximum group size, time allocation, level etc). Some modules will have will have more than one modulette assigned to it and this information will also be held by the Faculty Office.
Module Indicative Content
This module is based on your artefacts for self-promotion. This module provides you with critical support, focus and understanding for for entry into a design or related profession or for postgraduate study at the end of you course. You will be expected to:
+design self promotional material including your exhibition display, and interactive folio pieces presenting yourself and your work.
+ review available competition and innovation bursaries and prepare entry submissions.
+ review current industry jobs and provide material for application and interview+ review opportunities for higher degrees and provide material for application and interview provide
+ gather evidence of participation and contacts within a support network of media providers and workers
Module Additional Assessment Details
100% coursework
coursework includes a number of negotiated and aggregated components encompassing [Learning Outcomes 1-3]
(1) an interactive portfolio which presents yourself, your work and your ideas and objectives (approx 80%)
(2) a mock interview for employment within xmedia (in response to one of several provided advertisement) in which you present yourself and how your experience and skills can make an impact in that role (approx 20%)
A single assessment grade will result, the team having taken an holistic view of the student?s achievements.
