Module Learning Strategies
Practical Investigation
1. You will be expected to identify and investigate current market products and research areas, and identify future trends, with a particular focus on software developments and their practical applications.
Software Research
2. Following preliminary research you will be expected to identify your chosen delivery platform and generate a learning plan to extend your expertise.
3. View software tutorials
4. Undertake a program of personal study using online tutorial support.
Participation
5. Group seminars to exchange and discuss technical content and design issues. These seminars may be delivered in an asynchronous as well as a synchronous environment.
Module Indicative Content
Multimedia design and development shares many similarities with the management of innovation. In this module you will learn how to unite the disparate ways of working in interactive multimedia and focus on the anticipation of risk to control time, cost, and quality in a project. This module will have a strong emphasis on production planning and skills. A direct link with your EMIM Interactive Multimedia Project is required because extended research and technology is a vital component of the submission.

You will submit a design and development plan that includes the following:

5. Cost/Benefit Analysis
6. Node Map
7. Functional Specification
This design and development plan should be a minimum of 5000 words and will meet Learning Outcomes 1-4 (Problem Solving, Application, Knowledge and Understanding, Communication, Visual Analysis, Reflection, Enquiry)
