A presentation of 20 minutes
This will focus on one aspect of the module and how this is applied in practice. (contributes to meeting all LO's) Weighted at 100%
20 minute presentation of a case study which identifies how one aspect of care delivered by an assistant practitioner was influenced by legislation and or policies
Additional Assessment Details (including formative feedback / assessment :)
Formative feedback will be given during class discussions, individual and/or group tutorials and seminars, one formative presentation will be included in the module timetable.

Module Indicative Content
This module is designed to develop understanding of contemporary health care and how the role of the assistant practitioner contributes to the delivery of safe and effective customer focused health care. The will include introducing the students to legislation and local and national policies that govern and inform safe and effective health care for instance:
- Modernisation of the NHS
- Relevant, government, local and national policies
- Customer focused care
- Efficient and effective care
- Ethos and principles underlying health care policy
- Health and Safety legislation and policies
- Manual Handling
- Record keeping
- Multidisciplinary team working
- Communication and presentation skills
