Module Indicative Content
The aim of this module is to identify and promote the principles of good practice in relation to the patient's journey and the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. It also establishes the importance of accurate recordkeeping and the appropriate dissemination of information within the context of healthcare practice.
It will cover:
The patient journey
Models of nursing, for instance Roper, Logan and Tierney and Orem
Pathways of care
Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
The patient perspective
Ways and barriers to communicating with a variety of different people for instance stereotyping, prejudice and subjectivity
Module Additional Assessment Details
An assignment weighted at 100% 2,000 words. (contributes to meeting LO's 1 - 4)
The assignment will take the form of a case study demonstrating how the learning outcomes have been achieved with one patient and their journey through a health care setting.

Formative feedback will be incorporated into the seminar and tutorial sessions via group discussions and workshops
