An introduction to adopting a reflective approach in the work place. A SWOT analysis and models of communication. An overview of leadership and management theory. Contemporary government policies related to health management. The influence of national policies on work based objectives.Personal and work-based strategies to support organisational efficiency.
Module Additional Assessment Details
An essay that draws upon the students' reflective record of their own strengths and weaknesses and emerging self management and leadership style in their work-based role: They will identify elements of their work role that is influenced by local/national policies. (addressing all learning outcomes)
Formative feedback will be given via class discussions, individual and group tutorials and blackboard discussion groups. Students will be expected to keep a reflective diary of their work-based experiences during the module and will draw upon their record for class and other discussions.
