Module Indicative Content
This module is designed to provide you with fundamental underpinning in Human Biological Sciences and serve as a foundation for applied study of human physiology in later levels of your award. The module content is organised into Anatomy, Physiology of systems and their organisation. Within each session there will be online material to support your learning.
The indicative content is as follows:
Introduction to the human body
Integumentary
Renel
Cardiovascular
Respiratory
Blood

In term 2 the systems addressed are:
Lymphatic
Digestive
Endocrine
Nervous
Musculoskeletal
Reproductive

You will be expected to study anatomy prior to each taught session
Physiology will be taught and material be also be available via BLACKBOARD to support your learning

Module Learning Strategies
The physiology modules across the awards have been designed to compliment and build on each other. In this level one module teaching will be a team approach drawing on teachers from the branches of nursing and other professionals. The aim of the physiology sessions will be to establish themes that will help you to focus your attention and place the information in the context of nursing practice and clinical skills.
This module is taught and supported by Blackboard:; an online virtual learning environment. Tutorials will be offered by your Module Leader/Tutor in addition to the lectures if required.
