Module Indicative Content
Electronics: components and operational amplifiers. Simple filters.
Practical skills for analysis, measurement and interconnections in audio and video systems.
The sound card and video card - block diagrams, facilities, specifications
Use and control of the sound card and the video card
Binary, Hex and logic, A/D D/A, memory and addressing
Nyquist criteria for sampling
Microprocessor basics, memory addressing and simple program execution
Module Additional Assessment Details
Practical work assessed by short reports, computer demonstration and interview. 50% weighting covering learning outcomes 1, 2 and 4.
Staged assessed milestones 50% weighting covering learning outcomes 1, 3 and 4.
