Module Indicative Content
Students will gain knowledge of high dynamic range imaging and develop skills in digital image manipulation software in the creation of mattes, textures and back plates, photoreal and seamless images for use in visual digital effects. Students will be taught techniques such as compositing, Luma keying, masking, working with alpha channels, use of light probes, composition and perspective as well as shooting techniques for background plate compositing.

10. Shooting techniques for background plates for composites
11. The colour pipeline: acquisition to delivery. Established depth cues and depth of field, colour and tone.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A coursework weighted at 100% comprising:-
Individual assessments worth 40% presented through an online written blog of 1500 words, assessing learning outcome 2 and 3
A final individual practical piece weighted at 60%.which will assess learning outcome 1 and 3

Learning on all aspects of the module will be facilitated by lectures and tutorials, problem solving exercises and student centred learning.
Practical assignments using laboratory equipment and editing facilities will support the learning.
