Written assignment, 2000-2500 words (50%) which will assess Learning Outcomes 1 and 2
Practical piece of work 50% which will assess Learning Outcomes 3 and 4
Module Indicative Content
This module is designed to give students a fundamental understanding of the principles and practice of 3DS Max's proprietary character animation plug-in Character Studio including:-
- Creating character rigs using Biped
- Skinning characters using Physique
- Animating characters using Freeform and Foosteps modes
- Analysing and fine tuning animation using proprietary tools.
Module Learning Strategies
1 hour lecture and 2 hours tutorial per student per week
The module will be delivered using a combination of lectures, demonstrations and supervised tutorials. The majority of the work will be of a practical nature and students are expected to use their independent study time to consolidate this work. (1:80) (1:20)2
