1. CLASS TEST- multiple choice 2hrs - weighting 50% (Learning outcome 1)
2. COURSEWORK - weighting 50% (Learning outcome 2 and 3)
Comprising:-
a. Develop a synthesiser utilising one of the methods of synthesis covered in class.
b. 1000 word written report documenting the development of the synthesiser.
Module Indicative Content
- Synthesis and sound design using a variety of technologies.
- An exposure to a variety of software applications, modular systems and analogue
synthesisers.
- An analysis of the evolution of commercially designed synthesisers through analogue, hybrid
and digital systems.
- MIDI implementation within electronic musical instruments
- Application of MIDI within computer systems
