Module Details
Module Indicative Content
Students will study and learn techniques of location and studio based audio recording. The various types of microphones and their usage and the implications of environmental influences on sound will be studied.
The students will apply skills of digital audio recording using virtual synthesiser software and operate studio based hardware to control recorded audio.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A PRACTICAL piece weighted at 70% - that will assess Learning Outcomes 1 and 3
A written piece weighted at 30% (max 1500 words) - that will assess Learning Outcomes 2 and 4
Module Learning Strategies
The course will involve a combination of tutor-led lectures and seminars and independent learning totalling 3 hours per week.
