Module Details
Module Indicative Content
Analysis acts as an introduction to mathematical skills and numeracy. A range of topics are involved:- basic numeracy, fractions, decimals, algebra - notation and manipulation, graphs as representation of equations; descriptive statistics, measures of central tendency, and graphical representation of statistics.

Essay writing is concerned with developing skills in written communication and will build on communications. It will involve the preparation of written work involving some analysis of data.

The external environment in which the organisation operates will be considered, covering both the structure of the market place and national/international elements.
Module Learning Strategies
The Learning Strategy for the module requires students to commit 300 learning hours (including assessment). Of this, there will be 72 hours of class support and 228 hours of self-directed study. Learning support material will be provided for the module.

Module Additional Assessment Details
Submission of an Essay Plan (10%) plus a 1000 word assignment (20%) - Assesses Learning Outcome 2.
A 2000 word Case Study of the market place - 35% - Assesses Learning Outcomes 1 and 3.
An Examination (1 hour) - 35% - Assesses Learning Outcome 1.
