Module Learning Strategies
Learning outcome 1 will be taught using traditional lectures with student self-directed research on the relevant legislative documents and drivers for change. Access to modern texts regarding sustainability and carbon efficiency will be useful for 1.3.
For Learning outcome 2 the student will be encourage to produce suitably annotated construction details which comply with the regulations and the point should be made that there is often a wide range of technical solutions that can be explored. Students must realise that the building regulations are a minimum standard.
For learning outcome 3 students should be encouraged to use process maps / flowcharts as well as a critical evaluation of the documentation required for approvals. The use of case studies of non-compliance issues should assist with achieving 3.3
