Module Indicative Content
Contemporary Entrepreneurship:
- Defining the nature of entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial process in a modern society
- Identifying and exploiting the business opportunity in a modern dependent on rapid communication
- Establishing success factors for the new venture

Choosing a Direction:
- Entrepreneurial vision and mission, what is it, how do you shape and communicate it development of the strategic venture
. Using the business plan as an entrepreneurial tool

Initiation of a new venture:
- The strategic window, identifying and analysing the gap, scanning for opportunity, positioning the new venture and sustaining
competitiveness
- Appropriate financial support (choice and selection)

Growth and Development;
- Analysing and evaluating the dimensions for growth
- Examining the strategies for growth
- Consolidation of the venture and the changing role of the entrepreneur
Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for the module requires students to commit 150 learning hours (including assessment) of this there will be 30 hours of class support and 120 hours of independent and self directed study. Support will also be given by access to Scheduled Tutor Office Hours to support the module.

Learning support material will be provided for the module.

The lecture/tutorial pattern may vary with some activities taking place in medium size group workshops.
