Module Details
Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for this module requires students to commit 150 learning hours (including assessment), of which there will be 12 hours of class support, 4 hours individual consultancy with the module tutor and 134 hours of independent research and self directed learning. The class contacts will provide the students with the practical framework of developing business links in China and practical guidance on producing a business plan.

An individual outline business plan of 3000 words weighted 100% testing LO 1 to 4.
Module Indicative Content
Based on information from a variety of sources as well as personal experience, the students will identify a real business opportunity, e.g. import, export, joint venture, etc. and through application of their experience and knowledge, develop a strategy to turn the opportunity into a business reality. Through this module, students will
a) Develop the skills for conducting & presenting a business development project,
b) Be introduced to different business entry strategies for China,
c) Learn the up-to-date knowledge of different business entry strategies for China and the conditions under which each of these can be best applied,
d) Learn the skills for evaluating alternative business strategies in their chosen business context
e) Develop an action plan for carrying out the chosen business strategy
