Module Details
Module Indicative Content
This module introduces you to a selection of work-based personal development issues such as time management, effective communication and coping with change. Although separate topics will be introduced, you will be encouraged to consider how these inter-relate within the workplace. You will not only be asked to reflect upon how each of the topics studied affects your own professional practice but also to consider how improvements can be made in the future.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A reflective log weighted at 100%.

You will be required to complete a reflective learning log (maximum 1800 words) which will include a self-assessment of own development needs in relation to selected competences, and an action plan for future growth.

Module Learning Strategies
A variety of learning and teaching methods will be used such a group discussions, case studies, role plays and task centred investigations. There will be a strong emphasis on activity-focused learning and you will be expected to actively engage in all sessions. In addition you will be required to engage in independent study in order to consolidate and build upon your learning from the taught sessions. This will take the form of undertaking follow-up tasks, work-based self-assessments, and, where appropriate, reading relevant literature. The method of delivery will be appropriate for the needs of each cohort. Possible delivery patterns may include 10 weekly 2 hour workshops, or 3 day long workshops. Opportunities for additional assignment workshops will normally be available on request.
Module Special Admissions Requirements
All participants must be currently working in a post compulsory education establishment, e.g. FE college, private college, prison education, voluntary sector.
