Module Indicative Content
This module opens up a range of idea generating techniques to demonstrate thinking creatively is a skill to be developed. Learners will be encouraged to research methods to communicate their ideas and to contrast the effectiveness of certain media over others for particular reasons.
The module will include a range of opportunities for students to practice and adopt different roles using different techniques such as concept boards, scamps word or visual association, mind maps etc to convey their ideas. Underpinning the generation and development of ideas will be the cultural context in which you are operating such as ethnic background, historical, societal overtones, trends, graffiti and environmental. Students will be encouraged to explore these contexts and to reflect on how these might influence their own idea generation.
Digital media and creative work offers the opportunity to create new ways of personalising the presentation of your idea and illustrating it through software modelling.
Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for the module requires students to commit 300 learning hours, of this there will be 75 hours of class support and 225 hours of independent and self directed study.

Apart from the lecture each week, various other methods as mentioned above will be used as learning strategies.
There will be laboratory and tutorial sessions, students will be required to discuss and present various topics of the module in the class. Students will be required to apply theoretical knowledge in practical contexts.
Students are expected to be able to structure their own work and to work relatively independently under the guidance of the module teaching staff.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A coursework of 1500 words weighted at 50%.
An enquiry plan for the development of your story board
i. 1500 word research and development plan (25%)
ii. 1000 word enquiry plan (25%)
To pass this module student must obtain 40% marks. Re-assessment is capped at 40%
