Module Indicative Content
Screen plays and script writing are skills underpinning the impact of the film on the audience, its road map and its atmosphere. This students must be able to translate the original idea or concept into an effective storyline and dialogue, either between the actors and their audience or the director and their audience. To develop these skills students will be introduced to creative writing through the screen writing process and building blocks making up the narrative.
Students will produce a proposal for a short film by creating the pre-production screen play and go onto explore the practicalities of taking the script to small screen (internet-mobile phones-television) by preparing to shoot a short film: the importance of team working, of roles and protocol, conflict resolution, project management, established codes of practice, risk assessment, basic administrative law and regulatory practice and production values.
