Module Indicative Content
During this module, you will explore educational policy at national, regional, local and institutional level. You will investigate the impact of policy and conduct a comparative analysis with colleagues from diverse settings.
Module Additional Assessment Details
This module will be assessed by:
An article in the format of a relevant publication (1800 words). The article should focus on a policy / topic which impacts on the educational environment, and should include justification of chosen enquiry method, critical analysis and implications of relevant policy / issues, and recommendations for development and further research.
Module Learning Strategies
You will attend 9 weekly sessions, followed by an assignment workshop.
The sessions will be interactive, and will also incorporate relevant experts to introduce aspects of educational policy. You will engage in collaborative enquiry based activities to compare perspectives and the differential impact of educational policies. You will work individually to explore implications for your own work base.
In addition you will be required to engage in independent study in order to consolidate and build upon your learning from the taught sessions. This will take the form of undertaking follow-up tasks, work based investigations, and reading relevant literature.
