Students are expected to be able to structure their own work and to work relatively independently under the guidance of the module teaching staff.
Module Indicative Content
Pulling together all the element s you have gained to date in your studies is challenged in this module. Students are asked to go through a complete cycle of garment manufacture from design to production of a collections. This requires the development of a coherent vision for the collection while living within the budget available for the production processes to be used.
You will learn how to draw up detailed design specifications and develop your production plan. This requires students to develop not simply their design skills but those skills that ensure the manufacturing process is competed to schedule and budget. So you will learn about reporting against milestones and evaluating options within a safe working environment.
The back story to your collection will by necessity need to explore the market opportunity and balancing your vision with the realisation of the production constraints to deliver your finished collection to time and budget.
