Module Indicative Content
This module will give you practice in three main areas:

1) L2 and ELT teaching and learning methodology in practice.

2) Teaching grammar, lexis, phonology and pronunciation, through listening, speaking, reading & writing.

3) Planning and delivering L2 lessons, within clearly focussed aims of a course plan.
Module Learning Strategies
This module has 24 hours contact time; one hour will be used for theory, and the other for applying your theory to lesson preparation, the observed delivery sessions, and peer and tutor feedback sessions.

There will be a range of learning activities involved in the first hour, including mini-lectures, group and individual work and group discussions.
Module Texts
You are not required to buy any particular course book. However, the following are useful introductions for ELT:
Appel, J. (1995) Diary of a Language Teacher (Oxford:Heinemann)
Swan, M. & B. Smith (2001, 2nd edition) Learner English (Cambridge:CUP)
