Module Indicative Content
Topics will be drawn from
Undertake a major research project working independently make either a short moving image artefact (short film) in a genre of their choice (drama, documentary, experimental) individually
OR
Write at least two drafts of a 60+ minute script, plus supporting reflective paperwork
Students will be asked to identify their project in a proposal and pitch and then work to achieving their project aims. Students are to have a clear plan for the marketing of their work and individual career goals.
In the process of research students will be asked to engage in exercises that explore personal creativity, new methods of working, and the boundaries of digital media to discover new and innovative applications that may well become the conventions of the future.
Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for the module requires students to commit 600 learning hours, of this there will be 75 hours of class support and 525 hours of independent and self directed study.

Apart from the lecture each week, various other methods as mentioned above will be used as learning strategies.
There will be laboratory and tutorial sessions, students will be required to discuss and present various topics of the module in the class. Students will be required to apply theoretical knowledge in practical contexts.
Students are expected to be able to structure their own work and to work relatively independently under the guidance of the module teaching staff.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A 2,000 word negotiated client direction, client proposal and rationale with powerpoint presentation (25%)
A 4,500 word equivalent negotiated client output submission and VIMEO and blog (50%)
A 2,500 word reflective submission on and about the production brief and output (25%)
Assignment (Learning outcomes 1,2,3 and 4)
To pass this module student must obtain 40% marks. Re-assessment is capped at 40%
