Module Details
Module Indicative Content
The module will provide participants with opportunities to gain knowledge, understanding and experience of new classroom technology and innovations. The module will include the following topics:

- The evolving classroom in the context of Higher Education
- Enhancing academic practice through effective use of the university virual learning environment
- Using synchronous & asynchronous discussion forums to enhance pedgagogic practice and broaden summative assessment opportunities.
- Effective use of the 'voting software' for evaluating student learning.
- Pedagogic applications and assessment opportunties through the e-portfolio.
- Using electronic technology to enhance group work.
- Assessment workshop
Module Additional Assessment Details
Component 1:
Participants are required to take part in and make compulsory contributions to an asynchronous on-line discussion forum comprising three different discussion topics. Participant contributions will be assessed against set criteria that will detail the requirements in terms of reflection, theory and practice that must be inherent in their contributions.

Weighting 20%
(Learning outcomes: K & U (3 partially), Learning (1 partially).

Component 2:
Participants are required to use an electronic system to develop a reflective report which critically evaluates the use of one or more of the technological innovations taught in the context of their own practice. Links between theory, practice and reflective engagement will be fundamental to successful completion of the work.
