Module Details
Module Learning Strategies
Tutorial sessions (up to 5 hours max.) are to be negotiated with a nominated tutor. The tutorials should be arranged to coincide with key points in the study. An assignment proposal form (option 1 or 2) and tutorial record sheet will be provided.
Module Texts
Students will be expected to carry out a thorough literature search, which should include texts, journals, websites, and other germane resources that are pertinent to their agreed learning outcomes and the issues or strategies that form the focus of their work.
Current thinking from the identified resources should be embedded within the Summative treatise and should inform all critical and reflective practice during the enquiry or evaluation.

All participants must currently be working in a higher or post compulsory education establishment.

The module provides students with the opportunity to undertake independent study in an area of particular interest to them and of relevance to their overall programme of study.

Option 1: Prepare a plan for the summative assessment indicating;
a. The chosen issue and justification
b. Key texts, web and other germane resources
c. key themes to be investigated
d. Method and model for investigation
e. Expected outcomes from investigation
OR
Option 2: Prepare a plan for the summative assessment indicating;
a. An aspect of applied, work-based CPD, which you plan to engage for reflective practice
b. Key texts, web and other germane resources
c. A brief outline of where and how you have embedded new strategies as a result of the
applied and work-based CPD identified in part a
d. Method and model for reflective evaluation of the new strategie(s)
e. Expected outcomes from study

Produce a written treatise examining an educational issue or an aspect of work-based CPD, which is of personal interest and related to your area of work or study. 2500 words maximum (100% weighting)
