Module Learning Strategies
The learning strategy for the part-time on campus and corporate module requires students to commit 150 learning hours (including assessment), of which 36 hours will be class support and 114 hours will be independent and self-directed study. Candidates attending full-time will be given 48 hours of class support and 102 hours of independent and self-directed study. The extra class support is to provide time for case study work and discussion.
Whilst the tutor will input some basic ideas on the main issues, candidates will be expected to carry out research and to take part in group discussions to develop these ideas.

There will be a mixture of activities including, tutor-led input, case studies, videos, group discussions. An examination of popular cultural texts and representations. Self-directed learning.

An examination of the social, political and legal aspects that impact upon diversity and equality management

Researching ways in which organisations can promote equality of opportunity and the management of diversity in today's working environment
Examining case studies of organisations where issues relating to discrimination have been identified
Assessing the difficulties associated with the promotion of equality and the management of diversity
Evaluating the business case for diversity management
Examining a range of equal opportunity and diversity management strategies and their application in the workplace
